Cool! I guess the flowers mean that it's on the way out, do they? I'm gonna have 20 of the things to deal with soon! I might give some to my friends actually.

You had to remind me my plant is dying!
I just pull them off and hope the basil isn't affencted too much!

Sorry, I've no idea about these things really. As long as it still tastes okay, that's all that counts, I guess!-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:01:25
So very true! I only use basil for pasta dishes! How about you?
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:06:19
Yeah, mostly pasta, but I chuck it on pizzas too or add it to tomato and mozzarella salads, which is lovely! I've also put it in thai red curry as well.

- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:13:54
Mmm.. curry! could do with one of those now!

-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:23:41
OOhh yeah... even though I've had dinner, curry is ever alluring...
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:11:55
That's really cool! I want to grow something without it dying now.
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:18:54
Well, I'm not very good at looking after plants so I'm not holding my breath for these things... A friend of mine says it's because I don't speak to plants that they die... ridiculous...
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:23:15
=/
Why...why would you do that?!-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:27:47
Precisely... All of her plants are alive and well though and have been for years in some cases, and mine always die, usually within a space of months, so maybe there's something in it?

- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:32:51
=/
I genuinely thought plants were only supposed to live for like.. 2 weeks =/
Now i'm scared..
I must have some death - touch or something =|-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:38:29
I hope not. Sounds like a character from a Tim Burton film!-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:50:19
...Y'no...
That's scary.
James told me like last week (Well actually more like 2 weeks ago now) "You remind me of some dark cartoon.. you're my nightmare before christmas kid.. you're dysfunctional in such a great way"
And I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing.
I think it was a bad thing-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 00:54:46
Too many people are run-of-the-mill, so if somebody recognises something unique enough to comment on it, then it's a good thing... Trust me.
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 01:00:46
I don't think it was any form of comment on uniqueness though. I think it was more of a "Heh.. you're dysfunctional"
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 01:15:23
Still a good thing, I think.
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 01:21:56
Heh. I hope so.

Basil must be easy to grow coz I don't have green fingers at all, but like you, I saw some seeds in the shop & thought I'd have a go at growing them. They're a bit ahead of yours. I have about 30 plants almost mature. I love Basil. I'm also trying my hand at Corriander, Red Onions & Carrots. I must be crazy. I've run out of window sills. Lol

-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 01:30:56
Cool! How long did the basil take to get to the almost mature stage, then? I might have a go at coriander as well!

I have an enormous basil plant on my windowsill ... it grows quicker than I can use it.
I haven't been very kind to it, I must admit, I do forget to water it occasionally.
Looking at it now, I might have fogotten to water it yesterday, so Im going to go and give it a drink

Awww wow! I hope at least one of mine ends up like that! That would be like a dream; I wildly out of control basil plant

-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 14:24:20
Silly question but do you have to turn the pots occasionally so that they get light on both sides? As I said, I am sure it is a silly question. I am crap at plants and stuff. I kill plastic flowers!!
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 23:15:09
Funny you should ask as all of my little basil plants have bent over towards the window so I was thinking of turning mine around - Depends if you like bendy plants, I guess
but I don't think it affects them other than that...

I'm not really growing just some plants, I have a big graden here at home, if you want to come here and have picnics, for hundreds of people it's spacious enough... I'm living here in Rome, so if you want, you must travel from UK to Italy..lol. but i'm not joking about my garden....
-
- Sunday, 03. Jun, 2007 @ 23:16:19
Sounds lovely! Have to look you up if I'm passing through Rome!

We have a basil plant in our kitchen window! It's great although it had flowers on it not so long ago!
