Just sent out an invite for my garden-warming party to be held either next weekend or the following weekend. It'll just be a little gathering as I need to put my new deck and barbeque through their paces before my birthday party at the end of July. I still have a few things to do in the garden, but I'm leaving early today, so I should get most of those bits finished tonight. I also need to get some shrubs and plants so I'll have to pop to a nursery and see what they have. If anyone has any plant/shrub recommendations then I'd be glad to hear of them. I'm after things that won't grow too big and don't take a lot of maintenance.

Excellent news, Gav! Vicki can just about make it... I'll just wait to hear back from the others before I go and raid the butcher.

This guy from South Africa at work has just brought in a batch of beef biltong he's been preparing for ages... I've bought half a kilo of his finest dried beef for your BBQ as something to munch on whilst waiting for more beef to cook
