Just got back from watching the match and it wasn't an entirely unpleasant experience as has been the case under Steve Mclaren's reign up to now. We didn't create a great deal of chances but then we defended well and the Brazilians didn't create too much either. The free-kick from Beckham which provided the first goal at the new Wembley was text-book; beat the keeper with pace and curl and at perfect height and weight for somebody (John Terry) to run in at the far post and nod it in. The Brazilian goal would probably never have occurred had Terry still been on the pitch as nobody picked up Diego as he ran through the defence onto the end of an average ball to guide a header in bringing the final score to 1-1 with 30 seconds left to play. Beckham, Gerrard, Cole, Terry and Shorey all had a decent game. It would have been nice to see Owen do something along with Lampard, but they both had a pretty quiet night...
