The opening for the new French doors is starting to take shape now...

It's been a while since I last posted but that's because I've been busily unemployed doing this at my parent's house for the last few weeks, since my return from Sardinia...

I heard this on the radio a few days ago whilst driving a red Fiat Cinquecento from Domus de Maria to Alghero (in Sardinia)... and It kinda stuck in my head for some reason!

More beach action...

Mostly, this involved the long drive from Alghero down to Domus de Maria, just west of Cagliari. Unsurprisingly, the guys were on Chia beach so we parked up there and had a cold beer in the blistering heat before retiring to the villa for a lovely dinner of Sardinian sausage, aubergine and parmesan bake, caprese salad and several bottles of La Cala... which was all rather civilised until cigars, mirto (a pungent sardinian spirit). more La Cala and more Ichnusa were consumed and a spot of naked night-swimming was suggested (by Merle probably) at around 4am.

Made the plane with loads of time to spare after an unappetising meal courtesy of the Frankie and Benny's branch in Stansted Airport departures. I ordered a rare steak and when it arrived, I'm not kidding you, this thing looked like it had been to the earths core and back... twice! I reckon Benny must've cooked it - Frankie would never do that.

Tried and failed to watch my iTunes movie rental, Ronin, on the plane due to tiredness but arrived pretty ship-shape in Alghero to collect a shiny red Cinquecento from Europcar and made for La Mariposa - A little camping kinda place right on the coast. Upon checking in, we couldn't help but hear what appeared to be karaoke on the outside terrace, however, after a couple of dreadful numbers it became gruesomely apparent that it was the evening's entertainment A quick-wash-and-out-for-dinner plan was hatched which was just as well and we had a *lovely* fish dinner in La Pavone on the far side of the old town of Alghero.

The newly refurbished and re-named Simple Simon's was the opening venue for the evening but I can't really understand why they saw it fit to call it The Parrot! Anyway, many drinks were glugged in there and we moved on try out another refurbed bar called Chill, which was totally awful. Several of us invaded Scott's flat at around 3am and didn't leave until around 6am.
