Almost a re-run of last year really! Yukari made us all a very nice lasagne, afterwhich, we made our way to The Cherry Tree to see in the new year...

A group of family and friends gathered at Vicki and Jonathan's place, Chart House, out in the country for drinks and food. A very enjoyable evening! The pork pie was especially good

Met Gav in The Parrot for a few ales. I was particularly taken with the Winter Warmer that they serve up in there... Anyway, we ended up in Alberrys.

A pretty much textbook St. Stephen's Day...

Turkey and ham sandwiches.
Pub quiz DVD game.
Watching football.
Catching up with family.

Another enjoyable Christmas day with the folks, brothers and nan. Dinner, as always, was fantastic! No brussel sprouts this year either - Hurrah! Dad made it home for about 10 and a Singstar session ensued...

After flying in to Heathrow and heading back to Canterbury I joined Yukari, Leon and Vicki for dinner and drinks at Posillippo, followed by a trip to The Parrot for some English ales beside a roaring fire - Very pleasant!

... and so began my two-week Christmas break.

Will take place here and it seems as though there will be a nice crowd of us going...

So, Gav and Kyle were over to visit for two nights and a whirlwind evening via KDR, Gugelhof and a night called London Calling in Kreuzberg and that was it for Friday... and a fair portion of Saturday morning!

I went to play indoor footie with Milan and Tom in an unusual sports hall located on the fifth floor of building S148; one of the many vast, multi-storey buildings on the work site here in Wedding. You have to take what looks like a cattle lift up there but the facilities are pretty good. We introduced ouselves to most of the German guys before splitting into 3 teams and playing a round-robin kind-of affair. The standard is pretty good, so I'm hoping to carry on playing each week and improving my fitness which I have lost over the first few months over here. Unfortunately, I turned my ankle over with about 5 minutes to go, but hopefully it'll be okay (I know it won't be, but I will carry on anyway) to play with the guys from the department at Kicker World again next Thursday.

For only a divine being could be responsible for putting Konnopke's Imbiss right underneath my nearest U-Bahn station, where they serve the finest currywurst (that I've found so far) in Berlin.

We ended up at an apres ski party in a fairly naff bar called Dante last night... Mucho fun. I don't feel too bad today either! Will definitely have an early night this evening though. Might see if I can rent something for the night from my local DVD store - They have a magnificent collection of films in there.
