The Apprentice - Car Wash
@ Thursday, 26. Mar, 2009 – 12:32:41
'I know the words to Candle in the Wind... but it don't make me Elton John'
A wonderful opening soundbite from the great man himself, and so begins a new series seeking to appoint another village idiot to run an arm of Sir Alan's business empire. It seems with each new season that the bunch of motley, would-be apprentices become more retarded, which makes watching their antics all the more enjoyable. Last year I made several predictions about the candidates before the series began and I got pretty close with a few of them. Here's my take on the latest mob:
Most hot: Kate Walsh *wolf whistles*
Most annoying: Howard Ebison
Most likely to win: Philip Taylor
Most entertaining: Majid Nagra
Most bitchy: Debra Barr
Most likely to be fired next: Nooral ChoudhuryBusiness strategist, Anita, was the first to go. After spending almost all of the available budget within the first hour of the task the poor lass mounted a minor celebration, seemingly oblivous to the fact that the team would have to raise £197 just to break even. Not sure what she learnt on day one of Business Strategy class? Last time I cleaned a car, around the age of 10, I used a bucket, some hot soapy water, a sponge, a chamois leather and a bottle of Turtle Wax - probably a shade over a fiver for that lot. Forget the interiors, arm 8 people with that gear and ask them to go out and clean and polish 10 cars at £5 a go and you've got a £360 profit. Once again, I'm flabbergasted at the idiocy of these so-called high-flyers and look forward to more eye-poppingly incredulous task-bungling from these buffed, suited, 110% losers.

A Bet
@ Friday, 20. Mar, 2009 – 19:45:19
Possibly a bit rash, but I've put a bet on with Stephan at work that Hertha Berlin will finish above Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga at the end of the season...

German Lessons Again
@ Monday, 02. Mar, 2009 – 18:00:00
Yup, I am booked in every Monday and Wednesday night now for the next five weeks although I will miss next weeks lessons due to holiday - I plan to ask for extra homework so that I don't fall behind though...
We have started learing the names of animals and also items of clothing all with the genders and plurals! It all makes sense so that must be a good sign.

A Flying Visit to Canterbury
@ Sunday, 01. Mar, 2009 – 19:00:00

Well then, another busy weekend in Canterbury comes to an end. I spent HOURS fixing, clearing, shifting, painting and cleaning, with help from my father, yet still the house is not quite ready! However, I did complete almost everything on my to-do list before my flight back. Most importantly, I now have two fully functional freshly, painted sash windows at the front of the house for the first time since I moved in years ago!
Normally, I don't go near J. D. Wetherspoons but given that it was the only viable option for a beer in Gatwick South Terminal departures I decided to give it a go. I asked, without any faith whatsoever, if they had any real ales and was surprised that they had four! I wish I could remember the one I got now but it was very satisfying... Still don't think I'd touch the food though.
