It's too early to say whether Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have come up with a series to match the brilliance of the League of Gentlemen but the first two episodes of Psychoville certainly appear to be heading toward the realm of superbness. Once again, a wonderful cast of detailed, macabre and downright weird characters have been assembled and plunged into an intriguing gothic-comic storyline: An embittered, ghastly, one-handed clown called, Mr Jelly; A blind, miserly, obsessive toy collector who goes by the name of Lomax and of course, David, a simpleton with an encyclopaedic knowledge of serial killers and an inappropriately friendly mother. The acting, as in the The League of Gentlemen, is impeccable. Very much looking forward to episode 3! I think it airs in the UK this evening - Shucks!
